MAPA announces deadline for the soy fallow period in 2023

The sanitary void is a period of at least 90 days, in which you cannot plant or keep soybean plants alive at any stage of development in the determined area, a phytosanitary measure that acts to control Asian soybean rust , caused by the fungus Phakopsora pachyrhizi , minimizing negative impacts during the following harvest.

Alagoas: January 1st to April 1st
Amapá: December 1st to February 28th
Amazonas: June 15th to September 15th
Bahia: July 1st to September 30th
Ceará: November 3rd to January 31st
Federal District: July 1st to September 30th
Goiás: June 27th to September 24th
Maranhão: Region I1: July 3rd to September 30th / Region II2: August 3rd to October 31st / Region III3: September 2nd to November 30th
Minas Gerais: July 1st to September 30th
Mato Grosso: June 15th to September 15th
Mato Grosso do Sul: June 15th to September 15th
Pará: Region I4: June 15th to September 15th / Region II5: August 1st to October 30th / Region III6: August 15th to November 15th
Paraná: June 10th to September 10th
Piauí: Region I7: September 1st to November 30th / Region II8: August 1st to October 30th / Region III9: July 1st to September 29th
Rio Grande do Sul: July 13th to October 10th
Rondônia: Region I10: June 10th to September 10th / Region II11: June 15th to September 15th

In addition to complying with the empty period, the Map also warns of the increase in occurrences of the disease in the 2022/2023 harvest, and therefore, producers and State Agencies for Plant Sanitary Defense in each state will need to review the purposes and amount of authorizations for crops on an exceptional basis, provided for in Articles 9 and 10 of Ordinance No. 306/2021 .
